I’m not sure that the divisional championship games can match the hype and plays from last week’s games! It was some of the best football I’ve seen in a long time (except from the Chiefs).
So here we go with more picks… guesses…. something!
Green Bay Packers vs Atlanta Falcons – I think this will be the game to see, and this is the first game where I see Green Bay losing (let’s pretend my pick for the Giants never happened). It’s not that Atlanta is doing anything specifically better than Green Bay; I do think they match up evenly against them. The difference is that the Falcons saw the effectiveness of what Dallas was able to do to slow the Green Bay offensive machine, and saw what they needed to do to match their offensive firepower. If their coaches are able to draw up a similar game plan, I think Atlanta could make their second appearance in the Super Bowl. Falcons 28, Green Bay 21.
Pittsburgh Steelers vs New England Patriots – If I were the Patriots, I would be very afraid of the Steelers. First, if they get their ground game going, it sets the table for the rest of the offense, and Bell is currently playing like the best RB in the league. Second, they love to hit people, and hit them hard. If Brady has one weakness, it’s getting hit over and over again. It wears him down. It affects the play of the receivers who put more pressure on themselves to get open. Third, the Steelers love to hit people. (Yes, I know I’m repeating myself). This doesn’t just affect Brady; it affects the receivers who have proven that when they get lit up over and over again with crushing hits, they become less effective. I predict a Steelers upset. Steelers 21, Patriots 14.
Question: Who do you think is heading to the Super Bowl?
