well, here we are almost a week after Brian’s fall. he’s able to walk around, but cannot bend at the waist at all and must wear his brace virtually 24/7, except for in the shower. Loritab and Flexeril are his new good friends 🙂 Josh is getting a little better about not hopping on Pop, but we can tell that all of this has sort of thrown him off a bit. he’s going to be upset when daddy has to go back to work after having him home all week!
we are thankful for many things this week – the friends who flew to our rescue on Monday night for one. the fact that Brian’s injuries were not more severe. and today, the Paolettis, McLeans, Palmers and Simmons came over and raked 45 bags of leaves up from our yard. Yes, you read that right. 45 bags of leaves… that is what you get when you buy a double lot with big ol’ maple trees all over the place! Jeff also braved the roof and cleaned out the gutters too.
Josh had a fabulous time today. He enjoyed playing with Colin and showing him some of his toys. Also, he has discovered the joy of jumping into a pile of leaves and rolling around just for the fun of it! He’s also learned how much fun it is to have Jess rake a pile of leaves on top of you so that you can jump out and laugh! Kirsten got some great pictures and when i get them i will post them here for all to see.
Brian has an appointment with the orthopedic surgeon in another week, at which time they’ll do some xrays to see how things are healing up. We are thankful, most of all, for those of you who have been praying for us during this time, and we want to ask that you would continue to pray for healing for Brian, and for our little family as we take life one day at a time.
