and Christmas will be here! I know this because Starbucks is all decked out in red, their menu offers peppermint mochas and gingerbread lattes, and i am in sheer coffee heaven! oh and did i mention that Sarah McLachlan has a Christmas album out? it just gets better and better!
living in the U.S., it seems weird now that Thanksgiving is in November. i can’t get past feeling like it’s just too close to Christmas! this year on Thanksgiving, we will be dining on a turkey breast with all the traditional fixings and sides, and perhaps an extravagant dessert if i can manage it. we’ll be watching the Macy’s parade and football, and i will be putting up the Christmas tree and as many Christmas decorations as i can.
hopefully by then Brian’s back will be significantly better. he’s having a rough go of it, and i wish there was more i could do to help him recover. poor old Josh still doesn’t quite understand that he can’t just flop onto Daddy – when we tell him that Daddy has an “owie” on his back, Josh points to his hand, where he had a pretty nasty burn a few weeks ago when he decided to touch the gas woodstove. so he does understand what an owie is… just not the magnitude of the one that Brian has right now. for now we keep asking the Lord for healing and patience.
