Josh and I ventured out to the library this morning, since i had a cross stitch book on hold to pick up. (incidentally, as i am writing this post, Brian is watching Captain Feathersword sing Quack Quack Quack Cockadoodledoo… i am not sure what to think of that!)
anyway… as we were leaving the library we went past the “free books” rack, and i spied a pile of childrens books from the same series, all about figures from American history. they are probably for about age 7 and up – so i grabbed a bunch of them to put aside for Josh. after all, free is free!
tomorrow is Hallowe’en – we have 10 pounds of candy sitting in our dining room. i have no idea how many kids are coming to our door tomorrow night, since we were on the other side of the country at this time last year. Josh will be trick or treating on our street with Brian. He is going as Spiderman (Josh, not Brian) – it’s a simple matter of economics since the Elmo costume was almost $50 which is ridiculous for one night of the year, and Spiderman was $20 (also ridiculous but less so in light of the Elmo price). Next year i will be smarter and make the costume. Of course, next year Elmo may not even be on the radar anymore, who knows!

Free is gooooooood!
Plus, us librarians like to see them go to a good home. 🙂
