About Brian

Pastor by trade, preacher by passion...

So Proud

My wife bought her first domain name yesterday. It’s www.kristafrench.com (which currently is being redirected to this site). I’m sure she’s got some great plans for it.

I’m a pretty proud tech/nerd right now!

Brian’s Preaching & Leadership Blog – Coming Soon!

If you’ve come here looking for www.brianrfrench.com, you’ve found the right place.

In the new year, I will be blogging once a week on preaching and leadership topics that I hope will be helpful to those in preaching and leadership areas of the church.

You may be wondering… “why”?

  • Who are you to think you’ve got anything to offer?
  • Why put another blog out there?
  • You haven’t been consistent in posting here, what makes you think you will be posting on the new site?

Frankly, they are all good questions.  And while I hope that I will be able to provide answers to the areas of preaching and leadership, I hope to generate questions and dialogue that is helpful to both you and me together.

My desire is not to prove my right-ness and your wrong-ness.  My desire is to create dialogue and learning.

I’m hoping you’ll be part of that journey!  Watch for www.brianrfrench.com coming soon!

Thankful…

What am I thankful for?  It turns out quite a bit:

  • A great family.  Krista and Josh are the best wife/son combo I could ask for.
  • A great extended family.  They don’t live close and don’t visit all the time, but when they are here, time seems to fly by as if we were never apart.
  • A great church family.  Pineview people, I count it an incredible privilege to share life with you as your pastor.
  • A God who doesn’t give me what I deserve (John 3:17)
  • A God who loves me enough to swap me with His own Son (John 3:16)

What are you thankful for?

Bad Times To Use Your Cellphone

If you are going to talk on your cellphone at a game, sit behind home plate.  There’s a net.

Motivation: Maybe it’s time to get rid of the carrot…

Here’s something interesting I caught over at Michael Hyatt’s blog.  It contains some surprising ideas about what motivates us.  It is by Daniel Pink, author of Drive.  Maybe it’s time to get rid of that carrot…
